The vPro section in the Management tab of the Device Management Screen provides an interface to use Intel vPro functionality.
Note that vPro functionality in SquareOne currently requires a wired Ethernet connection.
vPro Compatibility
SquareOne will indicate if the device has the vPro platform components. Before vPro is configured, one of two messages will be displayed:
vPro Setup
For vPro functionality to work, the vPro client must be deployed to the device. Deploy the pre-configured package Intel vPro Client to the device (see Package Deployment).
vPro Registration
Once the vPro package is deployed, the device will automatically register with vPro and associate the device between vPro and SquareOne systems. This can take a few minutes, during which the following message will be displayed in the vPro section of the Device Management Screen:
Please note that in some cases, a reboot may be required to complete the setup. This is a known issue in version 11 of the vPro AMT software.
Using vPro
Once setup and registration is complete, the functionality to remotely power on/off the device will be available through the vPro section of the Device Management Screen:
Note that once set up, this functionality does not rely on the correct operation of the Operating System or SquareOne Agent - making it useful to recover from catastrophic failures or power outages. However, it does rely on physical power to the device and a wired Ethernet connection.
