This article describes the high-level process of experiencing SquareOne. Links to articles are provided to give further information on each specific subject.
Setting Up SquareOne
SquareOne requires an Agent to be installed on each device that registers into the system:
With devices registered into the system, they can be managed through the cloud UI, SquareOne Companion (see SquareOne Companion Overview).
By default, Bsquare will configure a single Administrative user for SquareOne Companion. Additional users can be added into the system through Settings.
Individual devices can be managed through the Devices Screen, where it is possible to drill into each device to:
- See device information (such as CPU, RAM and disk usage)
- Review software that is installed on the device
- Access the device via remote Terminal or Screen Share
- Send commands to the device
- Check the device activity log
- Reboot the device
- Manage the device with SquareOne (e.g. deregister or ban)
Devices can be organised into groups which can be managed in the Groups Screen.
SquareOne can be used to maintain a library of deployable software packages, from OS images to applications and content (such as media, configuration and other data).
Use the Packages Screen to review existing packages (including where the packages are deployed) and create new packages, or new versions of packages. The following articles describe how to create and deploy packages:
Auditing and Logging
To assist with system security, activity with SquareOne is logged. Overall activity can be seen on the Activity Screen, and logs specific to Devices and Groups are also available on the specific Device and Group screens.
